NORTON, VA – Nellie Mae Spriggs,
79, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in
Kingsport, TN. She was a former librarian with the Wynford School System in
Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Spriggs; a son,
Norman Spriggs; and a daughter, Pamela Spriggs.
She is survived by her daughter,
Nella Dawn Wallace and her fiancé, Ronnie Hall of Norton, VA; 2 sons, George
Spriggs of Florida and Mike Spriggs of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 9 great
grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Anna Spriggs of Norton, VA and a special
friend, Hope Hall of Norton, VA.
The family will receive friends
from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton,
VA. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home
chapel. Graveside committal services will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday at the Antrim-Eden-Nevada
Cemetery in Nevada, OH with Don Lambert officiating.
JO ANN JESSEE
NORTON, VA - Jo Ann Jessee, 65, died Sunday,
September 16, 2012 at her home on Guest River Road. She was a daughter of the late Banner and
Sophia Cantrell Jones, and was also preceded in death by a son, James David Hunsucker, a brother, Jimmy, and a sister, Florence. Jo Ann was a retired registered nurse with
the former Wise ARH Hospital, and attended Lost Creek Ministries. She was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Her children are: John and
Yvette; her grandchildren are Dalton Cody and Kendra Faith. Other family includes a sister, Ruby Dale, a
brother, Blaine Jones, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Jo Ann Jessee will
be conducted at 7 PM Saturday at the Lost Creek Ministries Church (formerly
Cornerstone Ministries) on Stevens Road, Wise, VA, with Pastor Jeff Reynolds
officiating. Memorial contributions may
be made to Lost Creek Ministries, or to the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center,
671 Hwy. 58 East, Norton, VA 24273. Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home of Norton is
serving the Jessee family.
ELMER RAY BOLLING
NORTON, VA – Elmer Ray (Fudd)
Bolling, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at Norton Community Hospital
surrounded by his loving family. He was also affectionately known as the “The
Mayor of Bear Creek.” He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Delbert and Jeanette Hall Bolling and a sister, Shirley Davidson.
He was loved dearly and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Ann
Bolling of Norton, VA; 2 sons, Danny Bolling of Norton, VA, John and Sharon
Bolling of Coeburn, VA; 3 daughters, Teresa and Kevin Owens of Bristow, VA,
Debbie and Kenny Carter of Haymarket, VA, Tina and Eddy Dodson of Princeton,
W.Va.; 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Jessie, Christie, Rachael, Christian,
Abby and Grace; 5 great grandchildren, Shane, Chloe, Riley, Maddy and Liam;
several nephews; special friends, Norman Jennings and everyone at
Transportation Plus, Jackie and Jenny Wells, and Joan and Willis
Gibson.

form 11:00 AM to1:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral
Home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home
chapel with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel
Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ann
