NANCY R. McFALLS
NORTON, VA – Nancy R. McFalls,
80, died Monday evening, April 20, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center. She
was a daughter of the late Cossie and Bessie Wallen Donnells. In addition to
her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John McFalls and two
grandsons, Ronald Stewart McFalls, II and Brandon Keith McFalls. She was a
lifelong member of the First Apostolic Faith Church in Norton.
Surviving are her two sons, John
K McFalls and his wife Janet of Norton, VA, Ronald S. McFalls and his wife
Cheryl of Big Stone Gap, VA; a grandson, Nathan McFalls of Big Stone Gap, VA; a
granddaughter, Whitney McFalls-Elkins and her husband Andy of Wise, VA; two great grandsons, Keith Andrew Elkins and Caden Davis Elkins, both of Wise, VA; two
sisters, Louise Blackwell of Norton, VA and Judy Donnells of Roanoke, VA;
several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends
from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home where a brief
service of remembrance will follow. Graveside funeral services will be
conducted 11:00 AM Friday at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Family and
friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Friday to travel in
procession to the cemetery.
CLAUDE "RED" NICKELS
NORTON, VA – Claude “Red” Nickels,
67, passed away at his residence, Wednesday, April 15, 2015. He was born in
Dungannon, VA but had resided his last 33 years in Norton, VA. He was a very
generous man who cherished family and friends above all else. His front porch
was a gathering place for friends and neighbors to stop by to get advice, share
stories and work out the problems of the world. He never met a stranger in life
and could rarely go out without running into several people that he had met
throughout the years, whether it be from his years at Humphries Coal or what he
did best, trading guns and playing cards. He was the most supportive, devoted
father and proud papaw that anyone could ever hope to have. There are not
enough words to express how much he was loved and how much he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by parents,
Oscar and Minnie Nelms Nickels, his brothers, Charlie Nickels and Earl Nickels
and a sister, Nancy Perry.
He is survived by a daughter,
Denise Stidham and her husband Shane of Knoxville, TN; sons, Randall Nickels
and his wife Katherine of Nickelsville, VA, Glen Nickels and Barbara Bennette
of Dungannon, VA; grandchildren, Alexandra and Aaron Stidham of Knoxville, TN,
Leanne Sluss, Matthew Nickels and Savannah Nickels of Nickelsville, VA, Tonya Nickels of Mt Carmel, TN; sisters,
Eloise Salling of Kingsport, TN, Lucille Orsbin and Mildred Gibson both of
Willowick, OH; a brother, Fred Nickels of Dungannon, VA.
Graveside funeral services will
be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Nickels Cemetery in Dungannon, VA.
Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for services.

NORTON, VA – Hiram “Jack”
Gilliam, 90, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at Mountain View Regional Medical
Center. He retired from Super Service Garage with 48 years of service as parts
manager. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during WWII. Jack enjoyed
fishing during his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter,
Brenda Mosberg and her husband Mike of Bristol, TN; his son, Ron Gilliam and
his wife Linda Kay of Norton, VA; his grandchildren, Chadd Smith and his wife
Pai C. Meng of Ann Arbor, MI, Michelle Whitaker and her husband Daniel of Bristol,
TN, Ronald Gilliam of Honolulu, HI; his great grandsons, Kaiwen Smith and
Nathan Whitaker; a sister, Ruth Hollyfield of Noblesville, Ind.; several nieces
and nephews.
The family will receive friends
from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
Gary Hill officiating. Military graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday
at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens conducted by local veteran groups and
Virginia National Guard of Gate City, VA. Family and friends will meet at the
funeral home by 10:30 AM Thursday to travel in procession to the cemetery.

MARCIA CALL
NORTON, VA – Marcia Jeanette Miller Call, 54, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Marcia was a 1979 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School and had been a sales associate at the former Royal Jewelers in Norton. Marcia was a devoted pet and animal lover, loved her music, and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Miller, and her brother, Bruce Miller.
Surviving are her husband, Gary L. Call, her children: Andrea Johnson, Coeburn, VA, Kristi Longworth, Wise, VA, Misty Foster, Coeburn, VA, and Matthew Aaron Call, of the home; her mother, Dorothy “Nell” Miller, Norton, VA, her grandchildren: Shawn Johnson, Kayley Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Audrey Longworth, and Marshall Longworth; her brothers and sister: Robbie Miller, Big Stone Gap, VA, Deb Slaughter, Bristol, VA, and Jeffrey Miller, Norton, VA.
The family will received friends from 5-7 PMMonday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. A funeral service will be at 7 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Will Gipe officiating. Family and friends will gather between 10 and 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home, where they will then travel in procession to the Laurel Grove Cemetery for burial.
