DOROTHY U. BRICKEY ALLEN

NORTON, VA – Dorothy U. Brickey Allen, 80, of Waldorf, MD passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2015.  She was born August 14, 1935 to the late Garney and Beallie Ramey of Norton, VA.  Dorothy was the widow of the late Henry G. Brickey, Sr., also of Waldorf, MD.  She retired from Walls Bakery and became a homemaker, loving to work in her garden, planning and raising her many flowers and shrubs.  She also loved her Redskins football, and was a huge NASCAR, Dale, Jr. fan.  Her brothers, Quincy Ramey, Coy Ramey, and a step-son, Winford Brickey preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughters, Debra Sergent, Norton, VA, Patricia Allen, Waldorf, MD; her sons, Timothy Brickey, Waldorf, MD and Darel Brickey, Salisbury, MD; her sisters:  OttaMae Medford and Phyllis Kerns, both of Wise, VA; and a brother, Donnie Ray Ramey, Wise; her step-children: Merle Miller, of Virginia, and Henry G. Brickey, Jr. of North Carolina.  She leaves, also, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Avenue NW, Norton, VA.  Funeral services will be at10 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Randy Sturgill officiating.  Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603, or www.hospiceofcharlescounty.org.


ANNA DINGUS ADAMS

GATE CITY, VA – Anna Dingus Adams, 89, went to her heavenly home on Friday morning, Sept. 4, 2015 at Holston Valley Hospital. Anna was born in Wise, Va. to the late Walter and Maggie Dingus. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Wyatt and Elizabeth Robinson; her brothers, Clarence, Luther and Arland Dingus; and her daughter, Diana Adams.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 65 years, Elmer Adams of Gate City, Va.; special grandson, Chris Adams of Gate City, Va.; a sister, Cecile Dingus of Wise, Va.; a brother Lawrence Dingus of Wise, Va.; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Alan Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Dingus Family Cemetery in Wise, Va. Family will serve as pallbearers.
