GARY MACK ABSHER

NORTON, VA - Gary Mack Absher, 69, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, TN.  A Norton, VA native, Gary was a retired TSGT in the United States Air Force and served in various duty stations around the world.  He was a son of the late Charlie Absher and Inez Fogarty Absher, and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lawson and Gladys Cantrell.

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Charlotte Marie Absher, his children (and spouses): Chris (Kim) Hamilton, Misty Absher, and Jody (Chris Thompson) Absher all of Norton, VA and Stacy (Kelly) Sturgill and Kevin Hamilton, Wise, VA.  His grandchildren are:  J.P. Page, Kylie Statzer, and Kaylee Thompson:  his brothers and sisters are:  Wayne Absher, Lewis Absher, Nancy Mays, Sharon Ingle, and Dianne Mays.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday, April 28 at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton.  His funeral service will be at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Gary Maggard officiating.  The family and friends will gather by 10:30 AM Monday at the funeral home, where they will then depart in procession to the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton for burial.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and local veterans services organizations.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517

SHERRY BOLLING

NORTON, VA – Sherry Lynn Bolling, 59, died Monday, April 15, 2019, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a 1979 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School. Sherry attended the Guest River Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Bolling and Clara Juanita Wells Bolling and a brother, Harold Bolling.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Lawrence Lewis of the home; a daughter, Whitney Smith and her husband Abraham of Norton, Va.; four grandchildren, Dakota Seth Smith, Alexis Mikalah Smith, Madison Shae Smith and Landon Smith; a brother, Darrell Bolling and his wife Mary of Norton, Va.; and two sisters, Clara Reed of Kingsport, TN and Crystal Smith and her husband Shawn of Johnson City, TN.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darrell Bolling officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, April 19, 2019, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am Friday to travel in procession to the cemetery.
