CAROL BOWMAN

NORTON, VA – Carol Bowman, 68, died Monday, January 28, 2019, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Wise, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Workman, Sr. and Mary McCormick Workman; her birth mother, Lucille Pettry; her sisters, Janet Trinkle and Agnes Workman; her brothers, Leroy Workman, Charles (CW) Workman, James Workman, Joe Eddy Workman and Leo Pettry.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Bowman and his Fiancée Nikki Legg, Michael Shawn Bowman and Marcus Allen Bowman; her granddaughter, Amaris Bowman; her brothers, Carmel Workman, Gary Workman, Danny Pettry and Michael Pettry; her sister, Sharon Elkins; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, February 1, 2019, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Hill officiating.

Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Hall Healthcare in Wise for their compassion and care given to Carol over the years.


JUDY SMITH

NORTON, VA - Judith (Judy) Ann Smith of Norton, Va passed away peacefully on Monday January 21, 2019.  She was born on June 29th 1959 to Elmer and Nancy Smith formerly from Coeburn Va.  Judy has the most precious ability to give of herself completely and loved to the fullest all those she knew and cherished, especially her children, grandchild and family.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Eric Smith and daughter Amy Michelle Stanley (married to Jerry Stanley) of Coeburn, VA and her dear sweet granddaughter Reagan Ashlyn Smith.  Additionally, Judy is survived by her father Elmer Smith, her brother James (Jim) Smith, her two sisters Jennifer Smith Ritchie and Janet Smith Laney and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Judy’s soft, loving and generous ways will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.

 The family will receive friends Friday, January 25th, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Va. 


THOMAS MULLINS

NORTON, VA – Thomas Carl “Tommy” Mullins, 57, died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a former coal truck driver and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing Mullins and Glessie Blanton Mullins; and three sisters, Donna Faye Mullins, Billie Wright and Sue Minor.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Mullins of Norton, Va.; a daughter, Sara Mullins of Norton, Va.; stepsons, Jared Bates and his wife Julie, and Brandon Bates all of Norton, Va.; granddaughter, Mackenzie Smith; step granddaughters, Jacie Bates and Olivia Bates of Norton, Va.; step grandsons, Jaden Bates and Jaxon Bates of Norton, Va.; brothers, Mark Mullins and his wife Glenda of Norton, Va., Ronald Mullins and his wife Janet of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Jackie Cooke of Norton, Va., Reedy Estep and her husband Eddie Joe, Peggy Wampler and her husband Danny all of Big Stone Gap, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Allen Culbertson officiating. Graveside committal services will be 11 am Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at White Oak Gap Cemetery, Norton. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to travel in procession to the cemetery.

RUBY "BEA" HOUSE

NORTON, VA - Ruby “Bea” Tuttle House, 75, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Norton Community Hospital, following an extended illness.  Ruby was a daughter of the late Jackson Henry Tuttle and Mary Jane Sizemore Tuttle.  She was the widow of James Joseph House, and was also preceded in death by: her former husband, Bobby Gene Messer, four brothers:  Charles Tuttle, Donnie Tuttle, Henry Tuttle and Carlos Tuttle; two sisters; Betty Woeller, and Edith Elmore, and a great grandson, Zachary Gray.

She is survived by her children and their spouses:  Sherry and Robert Wampler, Norton, VA, and Steve and Melinda Chaney Messer, London, KY; her brothers and sisters and their spouses:  Forster and Fannie Tuttle, London, KY, Lonnie and Jeanetta Tuttle, Hickory, NC, Doris and Sonny White, Michael and Karen Tuttle, and Gray W. Tuttle, all of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren:  Ashley Gray, David D. Messer, Amy J. Browning and John Chaney, all of Corbin, KY, and Sean Wampler, Yuma, VA; 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial and celebration of life for Ruby House will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, January 19, at the Fairston First Baptist Church, 80 Levi Road, London, KY.  Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Avenue, NW, Norton, VA  24273 is serving the House family.
