NORTON, VA - Ida Christlee
Robbins Stapleton, 88, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Norton Community
Hospital. Born to Ike Robbins and Fannie
Elizabeth (Jones) Robbins, she was the widow of John Ballard Stapleton, and a
lifelong resident of Wise County. She
was also preceded in death by two children:
Carbruce and Katie Stapleton, two brothers: Noah Robbins and Shuler Miller; and three
sisters: Bonnie Robbins, Oma Hall, and
Georgia Fields. Ida was of the
Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by a daughter: Donna S. Sturgill, five sons: Eddie Hunnicutt, Buck Robbins, Ernie
Stapleton, Greg Stapleton, and Bobby Stapleton.
She has a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and
nephews.
The family will receive friends
from 5-7 PM Thursday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be at 7 PM in the
funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Darrell Bolling and the Reverend Kermit
Collins officiating. Family and friends
will gather between 10 -10:30 AM Friday at the funeral home, where they then
will travel in procession to the Jones Family Cemetery in the Needmore
community for burial.
RUSHIE ELLEN COFFEY
NORTON, VA – Rushie Ellen “Nanny”
Coffey, 88, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 25, 2014 at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Norton, VA. She was a member of the Ramsey
Freewill Baptist Church of Norton. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother
and great grandmother. Although she will be missed we know that she is
overjoyed to finally be with our father God in her everlasting home. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Gran and Elsie Coffey and two brothers, Fred
Coffey and Gene Coffey.
She is survived by one brother,
Corbit (Tib) Coffey of Norton; one daughter, Lora Sloce and special friend
Feddie Sloce of Norton; three grandsons, Drew Funk and wife Amanda of
Jonesville, Jason Funk and wife Jackie of Norton, Michael D. Williams and wife
Shauna of Norton, six great grandchildren, Skyler, Kaylee, Hannah, Logan,
Jayden,and little Mike; a very special cousin, Nancy Pike (the sister Nan never
had) of Norton; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends
from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral
services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with
Rev. Ralph McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove
Cemetery.
ELMER NORMAN CRAFT
NORTON, VA Elmer Norman Craft,
84, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. Born in Arkansas, he was a son of Noah and
Ethel (Reed) Craft. Elmer was a retired
welder for General Trucking, and was a member of the UMWA. He was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist
Church.
He is survived by his wife,
Virginia Craft, four daughters (and their husbands): Tina Craft and Tami Al-Hazza, both of
Virginia Beach, VA, Lana (Randy)Tickles, Norton, and Jackie (Allen) Jones,
Wise, VA; his grandchildren: Chris,
Jimmy, Latifah, Darius, Aaron, Kendra, and Mackie; six great grandchildren, a special great nephew, Aberem McDavid, a brother, Harley Craft of Norton, VA; and a sister, Pearl Martin of Van Buren, AR.
The family will receive friends
from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be at 7 PM in the
funeral home chapel with the Reverend Lars Dorton officiating. Family and friends will gather by 10 AM
Thursday at the funeral home, where they then will travel to the Kerns Cemetery
near the Bishoptown community of Scott County.
