NORTON, VA - Corine Bolling Frazier,
83, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center
following an extended illness. Born to
Kelton and Bertha Bolling, she was the widow of James Frazier. She was also preceded in death by a son Randy
“Byrd” Frazier, a grandson, Joshua Frazier, a sister, Kay Fritz and a brother,
Frank Bolling.
Survivors include her children
(and their spouses): Gary (Connie) Frazier, Lady Lake, FL, Donna Frye, Norton,
VA, Sandra (Curtis) Collier, Appalachia, VA, Rebecca (Thomas) Hall, Wise, VA,
Betty (Scott) Wilson, Parker, CO; her brothers and sisters: Irene (Bruce) Arwood,
Joan Powers, Nina Marshall (Kenneth) , Peggy (George) Ketron, Larry (Sandy) Bolling,
Bill (Kathy) Bolling, Harold (Wanda) Bolling, Tom (Revona) Bolling, and Sherry
Bolling; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews; and her personal care giver, Loretta Wampler.
The family will receive friends
from 5-7:00 PM Friday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM in the
funeral home chapel with Rev. Cliff Bowman officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 AM
Saturday at the funeral home, where they then will travel in procession to the
Powell Valley Memorial Gardens for burial.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in c/o Hagy &
Fawbush Funeral Home.
LINDA HALABY SHAMIYEH
NORTON, VA - Linda Halaby
Shamiyeh, 82, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical
Center in Norton. Born in Jaffa, which
at the time was Palestine, she was a daughter of Seman and Julia Halaby. She was the widow of the late George Shamiyeh,
who died in 2008. Mrs. Shamiyeh made her home in the United States in 2011. She was a member of the Antiochian Roman
Orthodox Christian Church
She is survived by her sons: Dr. Souhail Shamiyeh and his wife, Dany,
Khalil Shamiyeh and his wife Zalfa, Elias Shamiyeh and his wife, Vaishali, and
her daughter Siham Shamiyeh and her husband Maurice. Her grandchildren are: George, Caline, Sophi, Ralph, Carl, Meera,
Maya, Mina, Lorette, Tamer, Merna, and Amer.
Her two great grandchildren are Siham and Maria.
Mrs. Shamiyeh will be repatriated
to Lebanon where she will be buried alongside her husband in the Sednaya
Orthodox Church Cemetery in Beirut.
The family wishes to express
their deep appreciation and thanks to the staff of Mountain View Regional Medical
Center and its Extended Care Facility for the care of their mother. They also acknowledge with gratitude and

WILLIAM D. ORENDER
POUND, VA - William D. Orender,
Sr., 76, of Pound, Virginia went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 12,
2014. He passed away at his home with
his family members with him. Born to
Charlie L. Orender and Oma B. Buchanan Orender, he was the last of his
generation that included two brothers and one sister. Mr. Orender worked in the coal mines for over
48 years, and was a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by his loving
wife, Lucille May Orender, a son, William Delano Orender, Jr., three daughters: Nancy Orender Strickland, Brenda Hurd, and
Teresa Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at
the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel,
with the Reverend Freddie Powers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dewey Cemetery on the South Fork community of
Pound, VA.
FRANCES SUZANNE HALL
NORTON, VA - Frances Suzanne
Hall, 66, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home in Norton. She was a daughter of the late Jim and
Mildred Daniels, and was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amy
Elizabeth Hall. Suzie was a graduate of
the former Clinch Valley College, now the University of Virginia’s College of
Wise. She began her career teaching
Spanish and English in the Lee County, Virginia school system, and retired from
teaching at Coeburn High School in Coeburn, Virginia. Suzie was an active
member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Norton. She was an avid gardener
and a lifelong animal lover.
Family was her most prized
possession. She loved her nephews,
niece, and great nephew more than one can imagine. Her greatest joy was being an avid
participant in their lives. Her family includes her brother David Daniels and
his wife, Sandy of Norton, her sister, Martha Daniels of Glen Allen, Virginia,
her nephew, J.D. Daniels and his wife Amy, Knoxville, Tennessee, her niece,
Amanda Daniels Brooks and her husband, Jim, Richmond, Virginia, and her nephew,
Tyler Reed Daniels of Knoxville, and a great-nephew, Grayson Daniels.
The family will receive friends
from 6-8 PM Friday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM
Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Gwen Owens
officiating. Burial will follow in the
Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Amy Hall Memorial Scholarship at the
University of Virginia’s College at Wise, the Norton Lions Club, or to the
Church of the Good Shepherd.

BIG STONE GAP, VA – Nicole Elaine
Stacy, 21, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was born in La Porte, Indiana and
had made her home in Wise County since age 3. She was preceded in death by a
brother, Brandon Lee Adams, a grandmother, Diane Conn and a grandfather, Paul
Stacy.
She is survived by her son,
Austin Stacy of Big Stone Gap, VA; her mother, Paula Stacy Vanover of Wise, VA;
her father and step mother, Jeff and Kristin Sacks of La Porte, IN; brothers,
Terrance Jeffrey Sacks, Michael Nolan Sacks and Carter Phillip Sacks; grandfather,
Larry Sacks of Reedsburg, WI; a grandmother, Debra Stallard of St. Paul, VA; a great
grandmother, Barbara Jean Lynn of La Porte, IN;
special Aunt, Charlotte Stacy and her husband, Billy Ramey of St. Paul,
VA; a special nephew, Tanner Stacy; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
