NORTON, VA – Robert L. “Bubby”
Russell, 45, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at his home in Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Barbara E. and James
Warren Minor.
He is survived by his wife,
Suzanna Russell of Charlotte, NC; his son, Robert C. Russell of Norton, VA; his
step son, Jessee Tucker of NC; his mother and step father, Carol E. and Lonnie
W. Skeens of Nora, VA; his mother-in-law, Barbara Colerider and step
father-in-law, Sam Colerider of Mount Pleasant, NC; his father-in-law, Fred
Mullins of Matthews, NC; a sister and brother-in-law, Teena D. Russell and her
husband Randy of Wise, VA; two brothers, Darrell Scott Russell and wife Kristy
of Norton, VA, Jonathan A Russell and his wife Dana of NC; several nieces and
nephews.

from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger
McCoy officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11:00 AM
Wednesday at the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Family and friends will meet
at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Wednesday to travel in procession to the
cemetery.
RANDY COOKE
NORTON, VA – Randy Cooke, 56,
died Thursday, April 25, 2013. He was a former employee of Brooks Electric Co.
and retired from Joy Manufacturing in Duffield, VA after 24 years of service.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis
Edward Cooke, Sr. and a brother, Timmy Ray “Spider” Cooke.
He is survived by his wife, Suzy
Cooke of Norton,; his mother, Billy Jean Cooke of Norton; his son, Curtis H.
Cooke of Norton, VA; a daughter, Candice
“Muffin” Cooke of Duffield, VA; his brothers, Eddie Cooke and his wife Sherry
of Norton, VA, Jerry Cooke and his wife Rosa of Big Stone Gap, VA, Terry Cooke
of Church Hill, TN, Greg Cooke and his wife, Jill of Norton, VA; his sisters,
Jeannie Sturgill of Wise, VA, Marina Edwards and her husband David of Wise, VA,
Tina Cooke and Sanford Hamilton of Wise, VA; several nieces and nephews and

will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike
Hunsucker officiating. Music will be provided by his niece, Brandi Cooke. Burial
will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Cooke, Glenn
Cooke, David Edwards, Josh Edwards, Daniel Cooke and Mark Thompson.

celebrating the life of Gladys Julian Stallard, who died January 30, 2013, will

APPALACHIA, VA - Cynthia A.
Middleton, 48 entered Heaven’s Gates on Monday, April 8, 2013, following a
brief illness. Cindy had a beautiful and
generous spirit, and was a devout Christian.
She loved God, her family, her friends, and shopping for shoes! She will
be deeply missed, and we will cherish her memory.
Cindy was preceded in death by
her mother, Dreama Tomko, and they are now reunited in Heaven. She is survived by her husband and soul mate,
Larry Middleton, her wonderful children, who were the light of her life: Robert Salyers (and Jessica), Aleisha
Middleton (and Justin), Adam Middleton, Angie Kaushagen, and Shelley Kaushagen;
her beautiful grandchildren: Ava and Easton Salyers, Noah Vanover, Matthew,
Hunter, Mackenzie and Keegan Kaushagen; her devoted sister and brother, Robin
Fleenor and Tim Holmes, a special niece, Makella Holmes, and a special aunt,
Shirley Absher. She is also survived by
her stepsister, Jamie Huckabee, stepbrother, Curtis Tomko, and stepfather,
Howard Tomko; her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her church
families at the Norton Pentecostal Church and the Christian Life Church.

AGNES WANDA WORKMAN
NORTON, VA – Agnes Wanda Workman,
89, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She
was the daughter of the late James Franklin Workman, Sr. and Mary Madeline
McCormick Workman. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles
Workman, James Workman, Jr., Joe Eddie Workman and her sister Lucille Pettry.
Surviving are her sisters, Janet
Trinkle of Norton, VA, Dinah Carolyn Bowman of Wise, VA; brothers, Lee Roy
Workman and his wife Virginia of Norton, VA, Carmel Workman and his wife Billie
of Norton, VA, Gary Workman and his wife Mary of Roanoke, VA; several nieces
and nephews.
Graveside committal services will
be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev.
Gary Hill officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for
services.
DANNY RAY STIDHAM
RODA, VA – Danny Ray Stidham, 61,
went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Select Specialty
Hospital in Bristol, TN. He was a U.S.
Marine Corp. veteran having served with the 1st Marine Division
during the Vietnam War. He received two Purple Hearts, Vietnamese Service
Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Combat Action
Ribbon. He was a retired Coal Miner and a member of the UMWA. He was an outdoorsman
end enjoyed trapping, ginseng hunting and camping. He also enjoyed his
gardening and canning. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Ralph Anderson “Bud” Stidham and Irene Stidham.
He is survived by his wife of 42
years, Etta “Louise” Stidham of Roda, VA; 2 sons, Donnie Ray Stidham of Roda,
VA, David Ray Stidham and his wife Bridget of Big Stone Gap, VA; 3 brothers,
Ralph Stidham and his wife Cleta of Dunbar, VA, Roy Stidham and his wife Liz of
Osaka, VA, Pete Stidham and his wife Tracy of Roda, VA; 3 grandchildren, Kenzie
Rayne Stidham, Dylan Ray Stidham and Devon Ray Stidham; a special niece, April
Burke of Appalachia, VA; several other nieces and nephews.

NORTON, VA - Anna Mae Farmer, age
79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at UT Medical Center in
Knoxville, TN with her family by her side.
She was born January 4, 1934 to the late Raymond Robert Frye and Ocie
Mae Frye McAmis. She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate Frank
Linkous Farmer, as well as her two brothers, William Jessie Bledsoe and Marvin
Bledsoe. She was an active member of the Norton Church of God in Ramsey and a
lifetime member of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Dept.
She is survived by her 6
children; Frank Daniel Farmer and wife Sherri of Spotsylvania, VA, Debra Farmer
Addison and husband Roger of Norton, VA, Reverend Edward Dwayne Farmer and wife
Deborah of Mount Sterling, KY, Robert Darryl Farmer and wife Michelle of
Norton, VA, Lisa Farmer Barnett and husband Greg of Norton, VA and William
Johnny Farmer and wife Jearline of Norton, VA; 16 grandchildren and several
great grandchildren.

NORTON, VA - Patricia Kay Shuler,
63, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Ephraum McDowell Regional Medical Center in
Danville, KY. Kay was born in the
Dorchester community of Wise County, VA, a daughter of the late Paul and Helen
(Mullins) Jones. She was preceded in
death by a brother, Harry Jones.
Surviving are her children and
their spouses; Steve and Samantha
Addison, Big Stone Gap, VA, Anna Michele and Mike White, Bluefield, WV, and
Jason Edward Shuler, Stanford, KY; her grandchildren, Emma and Ava Addison, and
Dalton and Connor White; her sister, Paulette Neeley, Vinton, VA; and a brother, Gary “Butch” Jones, Monroe, LA.
