JODI LYNN BAKER ROBERTS

WISE, VA – Jodi Lynn Baker Roberts, 46, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at Norton Community Hospital. Born, August 25, 1970, Jodi was a daughter of Bonnie Rose, Coeburn, VA and her father, the late Virgil Baker.

She is survived also by her husband, Clark W. Roberts, her sons: Mitchell Hall, Bristol, VA, Sam Baker, and Noah Baker of the home; her sisters, Misty Stanley, Hawaii and Katherine Phillips, Sandy Ridge, VA.

A memorial service for Jodi will be at 3 PM Saturday in the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Robbie Fultz, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Avenue NW, Norton, VA  24273.


ERVIN LEE REEVES

NORTON, VA – Ervin Lee Reeves, 89, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at his home. Ervin was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War and was a former employee of Westmoreland Coal Company. Ervin was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Phillips Reeves; his son, Edwin Reeves; his brothers, Elmer Reeves and Richard Reeves; and his sisters, Blanche Craiger and Trula Sargent.

He is survived by his son and his wife, Vernon Wayne Reeves and Cindy Reeves, of Norton, Va.; his daughter and her husband, Brenda Sue and Tim Greene of Norton, Va.; three grandchildren, Jessica, Brian and Joshua; two sisters, Carol Phillips and Mattie Phillips, both of Norton, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, March 20, 2017, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Roberts officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Reeves Family Cemetery in Wise. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am Tuesday to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.


ROBERT GEORGE SKINNER

SUMMERVILLE, SC - Robert George Skinner, 78, of Summerville, husband of Patricia (Collins) Skinner, decided to leave his earthly home and join his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Friends and family are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 1 o’clock PM at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA.
Robert was born on July 11, 1938 in Arcadia, FL son of the late James Leroy Skinner and Maxine Madeline (Barwick) Skinner. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He retired from Food Lion Stores as a district supervisor.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are: four daughters: Sheila Skinner, Barbara Bailey, Donna Willis and Robin Skinner; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister: Edith Mercer; one brother: Carl Skinner. He was predeceased by one sister and two brothers, Mae Jefferies, Lamar Skinner and Grady Skinner.

VESTER FIELDS, JR.

NORTON, VA – Vester “Junior” Fields, Jr., 67, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at Norton Community Hospital following an extended illness. A son of the late Vester Fields, Sr. and Myrtle Brummitt Fields, he was a lifelong resident of the Norton area. Junior worked for Super Service Garage in Norton as a body repairman and painter for over thirty years.  He was an avid fisherman and was very devoted to his family whom he loved dearly.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Sexton Fields, his sisters, Katherine Absher and Brenda Blanton, and a brother, Jerry Fields.

He is survived by his sons, Tony Fields and Tracy Fields and his wife, Cheryl, his grandsons:  Dustin, Nathan, Noah, and Austin Fields, and Brayden Lee and Ryleigh Scott; his brother, Bobby Fields and his wife, Rita, his sisters: Betty Mullins, Connie VanWinkle, Trena Greear and her husband, Emmett, Norma Bennett and her husband Cecil, his brother-in-law, Darrell Absher, his “special sons”, Chris Absher and Jeff Keith, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, March 6, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Robert Fultz, Jr., the Reverend Roger Jenkins, and Dr. Tom Renfro officiating.  Burial will follow in the White Oak Gap Cemetery.
