NORTON, VA – Mattie Bentley Diets, 79, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Russell County Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Diets, and a son, Robert Diets.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, G. Jearlene and Bob Gilliam, Lebanon, Va., Janice and Jackie Reed, Coeburn, Va., Bessie and Don Powers, Dante, Va., Teresa and Terry Hubbard, Norton, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Tammie Diets, Carlos and Barbara Diets, and Johnny and Linda Diets, all of Norton, Va.; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Bentley of Norton, Va.; a sister, Mandy Price of Johnson City, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday, June 2, 2017, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 1:30 pm to travel in procession to the cemetery.

NORTON, VA – Mary Ann Gaymon, 75, received her call from God on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 237 Kentucky Ave. SW, Norton, Va.

LEONA BRUMMITTE

NORTON, VA – Leona Craiger Brummitte, born 100 years ago on June 23, 1916 to the late Fitzhugh and Cythia Stidham Craiger in Wise County, VA, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Brummitte; sons, Kenneth Doil Brummitte, Palmer Brummitte and Marvin Craiger, Sr.; grandsons, Perry Craiger and Jimmy Taylor; son-in-law, Stanley Taylor; sisters, Lola Brickey and Della Burrell; and brothers, Milton Craiger and Millard Craiger.

Leona is survived by a daughter, Mable Taylor of Norton, VA; a son, Robert Brummitte and his wife Lisa of Church Hill, TN; daughter-in-law, Shirley Craiger of Norton, VA; grandson, Marvin Craiger, Jr. and his wife Earlene of Wise, VA; granddaughters, Reta Belk and her husband Ron of Richmond, VA, Tammy Taylor of Norton, VA, and Michelle Olinger and her husband Floyd of Mount Carmel, TN; great grandsons, Brian Hunsaker, James Taylor and Nathan Olinger; great granddaughters, Jessica Salyers and her husband Brad, Callie Olinger and Hannah Williams; great-great granddaughters, Kaci and Johanna Salyers; and great-great grandsons, Dalton and Benjamin Salyers.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Junior Bentley officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Huff-Brummitte Cemetery in Norton. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am Friday to travel in procession to the cemetery.

DELPHIA MARIE MATTHEWS

NORTON, VA – Delphia Marie Matthews, 63, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Norton Community Hospital.  She was a daughter of the late Earnest Miles Younce and Vergie Mary Musick Younce. She was also preceded in death by her sisters:  Evelyn Elkins, Wanda Harvey, and Shirley Jenkins; and a step daughter, Nancy Matthews.

Delphia is survived by her husband, Jessee Matthews, her children:  Amy San Severo , Sevierville,  TN, Willard Ray Boggs, Jr., Lebanon, VA, James Douglas Bogg, Jr., Conway, AR, and Rebecca Matthews, Weaverville, NC; her brothers and sister:  Michael Joseph (Oneita) Younce, Sevierville, TN, Larry (Rhonda) Younce, Knoxville, TN, Virgil (Rose) Younce, Norton, VA, and Carol Kilgore, Castlewood, VA.  Her grandchildren are: Aaron, Brandon, Swan, Ashley, Jordan, Cedrick, Nirvana, Jayden, and Hunter.

The family will have private services at a time to be determined.
