DOROTHY STURGILL

BIG STONE GAP, VA – Dorothy Gertrude Sturgill, 89, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn. She was a member of Zion Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Palmer Sturgill; two great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Donald C. Sturgill and his wife Sue of Big Stone Gap, Va., Wendel Sturgill of Rogersville, Tn.; a daughter, Pamela Cochrane and her husband Dwayne of Norton, Va.; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Culbertson of Norton, Va.; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roger Jenkins and Rev. Allen Culbertson officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Va. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to travel in procession to the cemetery.


SANDRA FRAZIER COLLIER

NORTON, VA - Sandra Frazier Collier, age 55, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.  She was surrounded at home by family and friends.

She was born in Norton, Virginia on August 30, 1962 to the late James Martin Frazier and Corine Bolling Frazier.  She was one of six children.  For those of you that were blessed to have known her, you will recall how sweet and caring she was and that she always had a smile on her face.  Her friendliness and kindness to everyone is a tribute to the beauty of her heart and soul.  She will be deeply missed and will forever be P-E-R-F-E-C-T to us.   

Sandra is also preceded in death by a brother; Randy Martin Frazier, and a nephew; Joshua Alex Frazier.  She is survived by her daughter Shawna Frazier of Norton, brother Gary Frazier and his wife Connie of Lady Lake, FL; sisters Donna Frye and Rebecca Hall of Norton; sister Betty Wilson and her husband Scott of Castle Rock, CO; many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to Frances Robinette, Caregiver.   

Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, March 15, at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Ave NW, Norton, VA 24273.  A memorial service will begin at 6:30pm.

DELLA MAE HALL

NORTON, VA – Della Mae Hall, 95, passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, March 7, 2018.  Born in Dorchester, VA, she was a daughter of James Edward Fultz and Lou Emma Lane Fultz, and was the widow of Ross Edward Hall.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hall, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.  Della was a sales associate at the former D. Cury’s Department Store in Norton, and during World War II she served in the Ladies’ Auxiliary supporting the war effort.  In her later years she participated in the Mountain Empire Older Citizens Nutrition program.

She is survived by her children (and their spouses):  Shirley Peters (and the late Joseph Donald Peters), Carroll (and Glenna) Hall, all of Norton, and Kevin (and Tammy) Hall, Wise, VA, a brother Robert (and Faye) Fultz, Sr. Norton, VA, a sister-in-law, Margie Jones, Elyria, OH, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton.  A graveside service will be at 1 PM Saturday at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
