NORTON, VA - Cynthia Louise Stidham, 88, died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Nags Head, NC. Born to Fred and Nannie (Pannell) Ramey in Appalachia, Virginia, she was the widow of the late James Parkis Stidham, Sr. Mrs. Stidham was formerly of Dorchester, Virginia, spent much of her family years in Floral City, Florida, and later made her home in Ford, Virginia. She formerly was a member of the then West Norton Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Allen Stidham, a daughter, Peggy Louise Stidham, a grandson, James Vernon Stidham, and her sisters: Eunice Jeanette Scott, Jackie Wheatley, Ruth Wyatt, Irene Barnack, and Allene Wallen.
She is survived by her children: Deborah Lynn Stidham Erwin, Ford, VA, Theresa Faye Stidham Krouper, Seminole, FL, Martha Arlene Stidham Houston, Greenville, NC, Danny Farrell Stidham, McKenney, VA, Arlin Harold (Patricia)Stidham, Floral City, FL, James Parkis Stidham, Jr., Ford, VA, and Joe Thomas Stidham, Ford, VA. Her grandchildren are: Marcie, Chris, Jeffrey, Kristen, Sean, Jackie, and Bailey; great grandchildren are: Madison, Desiree, Brandi, Jeremey, Jenna, Joshua, Jr., Samantha, Bramble, Zoey, and Kayleigh; her great-great grandchildren: Logan, Gregory, Anastasia, Alexandria, Kendall, and Reese.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverend Allen Culbertson officiating.
